TIPS

suite in six parts for piano and orchestra

The concerto-like TIPS is structured as a suite in 6 parts. The composition marked a real-life transition from writing and producing popular music back into the realm of classical music. The music is fun and eclectic: each of the 6 movements fuses classical music with elements of rock, jazz, electronic, funk or ethnic music. A stylistic uniformity is perhaps achieved through the use of a consistent sound palette. The piano, functioning as a story-teller, further enhances a sense of unity.

Premiered in 2013, with the Hamburger Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Guy Braunstein and Ohad Ben-Ari as the soloist.
